Bus Projects, 2013
— instagram “instamural” campaign, printed invitations
For Sedition, the inaugural Bus Projects fundraising exhibition, artists were invited to donate works to be printed in an edition of 5, using a process nominated by the artist. This coincided with Bus Projects adopting new online platforms for publishing content, including Instagram, and also a move to a new gallery space. The titles the artists gave to their digital files were used in a typographic solution to promote the exhibition, instead of images of the submitted artwork. It was decided to upload these to Instagram in a drip-feed over a period of 24 hours, these eventually formed “Instamurals” within Instagram’s 3 x 4 grid interface.
